A red knot or green knot on the lion?s head classifies the sex of male and female respectively. The shape of Southern Lion represents a strong power. At the early period, a dancer wearing a mask of Baddish statue head leads the Southern lion. In their dancing styles, the Northern emphases in jumping, and the Southern enhances in flatland dancing. In the Dragon Dance, the athletes control the dragon in dancing to show a powerful atmosphere, and the symbol of luck, pleasure, and fortune.
