MU will arrive Macau tomorrow MAIGOC presents the arrangement

  Macao 2007, 2nd Asian Indoor Games Organising Committee (MAIGOC) held a press conference at MAIGOC Headquarters on yesterday afternoon (19 July) to introduce the arrangements for the Warm Up Event of the Macau 2007, 2nd Asian Indoor Games – the Venetian Macao Cup, a friendly match between the Manchester United and Chinese Super League team Shenzhen Xiangxue Eisiti Football Club. Temporary traffic and parking arrangements nearby the Macao Stadium will are made between 21 to 24 July.

  Temporary Traffic Arrangements and Limited Parking Spaces on 23 July

  At the press conference, representatives from related departments introduced the temporary parking and traffic arrangements, admission, spectator services and media arrangements for the friendly match. On 23 July (Monday), one way and restricted access are allowed in Rua do Desporto (between Macao Stadium and Macao Olympic Aquatic Centre) and Rua do Colégio. At the display of match tickets and under the instruction of MAIGOC’s staff, private vehicles drivers are available to park on the three floors and designated outdoor parking area at the Macao Olympic Complex Car Park.

  MAIGOC stated that as parking spaces are limited, they will be provided on a first come first serve basis. Therefore drivers should look for other parking area when the parking lots are full. In addition, motorcycle parking spaces will be reserved in the area between the Macao Olympic Aquatic Centre and Macau Jockey Club.

  17:30 Open for Spectators, All-Star Football Match

  Macao Stadium will be opened for ticket bearers from 17:30 on 23 July. An All-Star football match between All-Star Team of Sun Hei Football Club and Macao Invitation Team will kick off on 17:30. The match which will anticipate an enjoyable performance for early birds is predicted to ease traffic pressure by encouraging earlier arrivals. MAIGOC will announce details on the All-Star football match in the coming two days.

  Partial Parking Lots before and after the Open Training Session on 22 July

  For the Manchester United Team Open Training Session on 22 July at Macao Stadium, parking area will be reserved for drivers with the Open Training Admission Passes. The area opens from 8:00a.m. to 1 hour after the Opening Training. Admission Pass bearers should follow MAIGOC’s instructions to their parking.

  Designated Seats and Strictly Forbidding Harmful Objects

  MAIGOC introduced the arrangements for the admission of spectators and designated seating, especially emphasizing that Admission Pass Bearers must go through security check measures of the Organiser. Any harmful objects, glass, plastic, can drinks and other objects that may cause disorder within the venue are forbidden. Spectators should take note of the seat numbers and enter the Macao Stadium at the designated gates to avoid confusion.

  A show for the Red Devil & MAIGOC

  At the press conference arrangements for media coverage and venue installations were also introduces. “The Match is the biggest international event Macao will host before the 2nd Asian Indoor Games,” said MAIGOC Chairman Manuel Silverio “the preparations made for venue preparations, crowd control, security measures and media services will all be part of this important test for the 2nd Asian Indoor Games to be opened on 26 October this year, for the Games period and especially a major reference for the operations of the Opening Ceremony.

  Aside from MAIGOC Chairman Manuel Silverio and the responsible person of the various areas, present today at the press conference are also Superintendent Lam Man Wai from the Police Department and Mr Lo Ngai Wa from the DSSOPT. The Warm up event for the 2nd Asian Indoor Games “Manchester United vs Shenzhen Xiangxue Eisiti” friendly football match will be held at the Macao Stadium on 23 July 2007 at 20:00. The match is also an important promotional prelude to the 2nd Asian Indoor Games this October.
