Macao 2nd Asian Indoor Games Organising Committee (MAIGOC) launched the first sports demonstration promotional campaign at Rossio Central Plaza in Macau Fisherman’s Wharf yesterday (14 July). Citizens and tourists gathered the exhibition applauded to the performances of Dragon & Lion Dance, DanceSport and Indoor Cycling. Aside from winning the Games souvenirs at the Q&A session, parents who brought their children to participate in the activity has also acquired deeper understanding of the Asian Indoor Games. “We brought the kids here today so that they can know the benefits of sports practices, whether they are dancing or chess,” said one parent at the activity. A tourist from Hong Kong has also agreed that the sports demonstrations have enhanced his understanding of the Indoor Games, and he is now considering to come to Macao and watch the Games.
Following today’s event, MAIGOC will also celebrate at the Macau Fisherman’s Wharf the “100 Days Countdown for the Games” on July 18, during which MAIGOC has invited representatives from local sports associations included in the Games Sports Programme, to participate in the parade and in the Countdown Clock Inauguration and Anthem Announcement.
Macao citizens are encouraged to participate in the upcoming Games activities held by MAIGOC, and witness the celebration of the Asian Indoor Games 100-Day Countdown Ceremony.
