Macao, China -English Premier League leaders Manchester United will meet its fans in Macaofor the first time ever when they are in town take part in The Venetian MacaoCup at the Macao Stadium on July 23, 2007.
The historicvisit is made possible by the combined effort of the joint organizers: Macau 2ndAsian Indoor Games Organising Committee (MAIGOC) and Ka Ki Sport Development,title sponsor The Venetian Macao~Resort~Hotel, tour organizer ProEvents and co-organizer Macau Football Association.
Speaking at apress conference held at the MAIGOC’s headquarters, The Venetian Macao Cup OrganizingCommittee Chairman Mr. ManuelSilvério announced that tickets forthe much anticipated match between the Red Devils and Chinese SuperLeague team Shenzhen Xiangxue EisitiFootball Club would be on sale at the Macao Stadium from 9am on 2 June 2007,available at MOP 300, 600 and 900.
“Thisworld-class event also serves as warm up for the upcoming Macau 2007, 2ndAsian Indoor Games, and an overall test for the operations in security, crowdmanagement, hospitality, medical services, ticketing, protocol, media centre toTV broadcasting,” said MAIGOC Chairman Mr.Manuel Silvério.
Mr. DavidGill, Chief Executive of Manchester United Football Club said: “We are delighted to be the first ManchesterUnited team to visit Macao.We are looking forward to the game immensely and a chance to see some of ourloyal fans in Chinaonce again.”

ManchesterUnited’s match against Shenzhen Xiangxue Eisiti FC will kickoff at 8pm on 23rd July. It would be theEnglish Premiership giants’ third stop in its summer Asian Tour, which willbegin in Tokyowhen the team meets Urawa Red Diamonds on 17th July. They will then go to Koreato face FC Seoul three days later. United will touch down in Macao on 21stJuly, before finishing in Kuala Lumpur on 27th July against a Malaysian XI.
