The “Macau 2007， Asian Indoor AthleticsInvitation Tournament” isorganised by the Association of Athletics of Macau， China which will be held on10 and 11 February in the Macao East Asian Games Dome Arena. More than 110athletes from China， Macao， China，Hong Kong， Chinaand Vietnamwill participate in the tournament.
IndoorAthletics has become one of the most eye-catching sports events in recent years.Therefore， the Association of Athletics of Macau， China organised thistournament in particular to promote the sport and to well prepare for the 2ndAsian Indoor Games which is scheduled in October this year.
To makesuccess of this tournament， Macao 2nd Asian Indoor Games OrganisingCommittee (MAIGOC) assisted the Association to install the international standardfacilities of indoor athletics in the Macao East Asian Games Dome Arena， including8 straight lanes (60m) and 6 oval lanes (200m) for track event， and various specialequipments of triple jump， high jump， shot put and pole vault for field event.The installation costs a total of approximate MOP$15 million. All these notonly create the best environment for the competition program of the IndoorAthletics of the 2nd Asian Indoor Games， but also improve the bargainingpower of the Macau SAR to bid for the hosting right of other large-scale IndoorAthletics events.
Thetournament will be held at 15:00 - 21:30 on 10 February (Saturday) and 15:00 -18:30 on 11 February (Sunday)， in the Macao East Asian Games Dome Arena. Thetournament is free of charge for public.
