After confirmation of the competition programs and dates of the 1st Lusofonia Games and 2nd Asian Indoor Games, the Macao 2nd Asian Indoor Games Organising Committee (MAIGOC) hosted a press conference to officially announce the competition programs and dates of both Games, the structure of MAIGOC and the competition and promotion programs of these multisport Games. It’s hoped that the recognition of the 1st Lusofonia Games, 2nd Asian Indoor Games and MAIGOC of members of NOCs, local residents and people abroad will be increased.
Manuel Silvério, Chairman of MAIGOC, presided over the press conference. Attendees included Bruno Nunes, Company Secretary, in charge of Accreditation and Legal Affairs, and 7 Directors. They are: Hong Wai, in charge of Medical Services and Doping; Eddie Laam Wah Ying, in charge of Local Associations; Charles Lo, in charge of Transportation and Marketing; Peter Ung Hoi Ian, in charge of Finance, Administration and Ticketing; Isabel da Silva, in charge of Hospitality, International Affairs and Linguistics Services; Eric Chau Ka Lai, in charge of Cultural Event, Communication, Promotion and Volunteers; Gisela Nunes, in charge of Competition and Sports Venues. João Ribeiro, Advisor, in charge of IT and Risk Management.
The 1st Lusofonia Games will be held from 7 to 15 October this year. The 8 sports are Athletics, Basketball, Football, Futsal, Taekwondo, Table Tennis, Beach Volleyball and Volleyball. The Opening Ceremony will be held at the Macau Stadium and the Closing Ceremony at the Macau East Asian Games Dome.
The 2nd Asian Indoor Games will be held from October 26 to November 3 next year. The 15 sports are Aerobics, Billiards, Bowling, Chess, Dragon and Lion Dance, Dance Sports, Electronic Sports (E-Sports), Extreme Sports, Futsal, Hoop Takraw, Indoor Athletics, Indoor Cycling, Indoor Hockey, Muay, Swimming – Short Course 25 meters. The Opening and Closing Ceremonies will be held at the Macau Stadium.
