November 17 marks the sixth day of the 1st Asian Indoor Games, on which Macau athletes were competing in aerobic, indoor cycling and short-course swimming events. As per Macaus last competition has finished, the China-Macau sport delegation has grasped 3 gold, 5 silver and 6 bronze medals to conclude this edition of Asian Indoor Games.
With one gold in Mens 50m butterfly and one silver in 100m on hand, Victor Wong Wing Cheung won another gold medal on November 17 in 100m individual medley in the time of 57.06, which created a new record of Macau. Together with the bronze from Mens 4x25m medley relay in 47.52, Macau swimmers have grasped seven medals in total, including two golds, two silvers and three bronzes. For others, Lao Kuan Fong finished the match in a time breaking Macaus record, while womens team finished 4x25m freestyle in 53.03 and Lei Sin Ian finished 200m breaststroke in 2:47:83.
Trio Kok Chou Mui, Fong Hoi Kei and Lei Ying Ching were the only representatives of Macau in aerobic, ranking eighth as a result. Muay award ceremony will be held today.
It is a pity that cycling ball did not add any medal to Macaus list. Lai U Hing and Lin Run Qin lost to their strong Japanese opponents by 2 :15 in the first game and to Hong Kong by 2 : 9 in the second. The team were twice defeated by Thailand afterwards in the preliminary by 1:11 and in the bronze match by 0 :13.
Invited guests and performance group representing Macau arrived at Thailand on November 17, one day before another team led by the Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture, Mr. Fernando Chui Sai On, start the trip to attend the closing ceremony in Bangkok.
