BABGOC Promotes in Macao

A press conference to promote large-scale sporting event, the Bali 2008 1st Asian Beach Games this time, was held yesterday in the Main Press Center of the 2AIG, where the Bali Asian Beach Games Organizing Committee, BABGOC, introduced the preparation progress for the Asian Beach Games to be hosted in Bali in October 2008. Sitting at the head table were Manuel Silvério, Vice-President of OCA; Sony Subrata, Marketing and Public Relations Directors of BABGOC; Ida Bagus Antara, Operations Manager; and Nina Langitan, Promotions Manager, jointly to promote the 4th mutli-sports event created by OCA.

Subrata agrees the 2nd Asian Indoor Games has set an extremely high standard example to the following host cities, which is also the goal that the inaugural edition of Asian Beach Games is pursuing towards. The Marketing Director hopes the Games shall speed up the development of the local tourism industry while at the same time lead the world to explore the beautiful Bali. Subrata said BABGOC shall try its best to fulfill the standard that OCA sets to each particular sporting event under its umbrella, and referring to MAIGOC's experience, make the 1st edition of Asian Beach Games a great success.

The 2AIG is also taken by many organizing committees as a chance to promote their sporting events, such as the Beijing Olympics, Kaohshung World Games, the Asian Indoor Games respectively in Vietnam and Qatar, the Asian Games in Guangzhou and Incheon, East Asian Games in Hong Kong, Lusofonia Games, as well as the topic of today's press conference –Asian Beach Games in Bali Indonesia.

Under the umbrella of OCA there are now Asian Games, Asian Winter Games, Asian Indoor Games and Asian Beach Games. According to Vice-President of OCA Manuel Silvério, the Council shall discuss the allocation of sports in Kuwait in coming January, with the hope to balance the size of these four games and attract more athletes to join.

In the inaugural edition of Asian Beach Games which is to be hosted in Bali between October 18 and 26 in 2008, there are 13 sports and 59 events, including Surfing, Windsurfing, Sailing, Dragon Boat, Beach Volleyball, Beach Sepaktakraw, Beach Handball, Beach Soccer, Body Building, Jetski Sport, Triathlon, Marathon Swimming, Paragliding and Woodball.
