Macao opens the Medal Tally

Finishing with the first Gold medal of the Games in Women Single Artistic Cycling Macao China athlete Kuan Sok Mui opens the Medal Tally with an amazing result of 292.047 points and also breaks the Games and the Asian records at the 2 nd Asian Indoor Games.

When asked about the pressure of representing the host team Kuan said: "I made some mistakes that cost me some points but the pressure is something I'm already getting used to handle because I have been competing in many international events."

Hong Kong China finished runner up with silver and bronze medals by Tsang Yu Sum and Mui Ho Yee, with a result of 267.40 and 260.63 respectively. Also in Men Pair Final Lou Antonio Jose won silver medal with a result of 266.00 adding one more great result for Macao's team.

Today marks the first official day of the 2nd Asian Indoor Games Competition. After an amazing Opening Ceremony all the athletes are setting their goals to take the medals home.

The second edition of the Asian Indoor Games is being held in Macao China, from 26 October to 3 November 2007. The innovative and appealing sport program consists of 17 competing sports and 3 demonstration sports, with participation from 45 countries from all regions of Asia.
