As the last rehearsal for the staff of the competition department, Macau 2007, 2nd Asian Indoor Games Indoor Athletics Test Event held yesterday (21 October) at the Macao East Asian Games Dome. 57 Macao athletes simulating the real situation of the competitions, representing athletes from different places during the test event, some are going to compete in the Indoor Athletics competitions during the Games.
The competition including Men and Women’s 60m, Men’s High Jump, Women’s Long Jump, Men’s 1500m and Men and Women’s 4x400m were being held yesterday during the Indoor Athletics Test Event. MAIGOC Manager for Indoor Athletics Events Ho Weng Hong indicated that MAIGOC had already held Macau 2007, Asian Indoor Athletics Invitation Tournament in February. However, the tournament was held long time ago and the hosting of the Indoor Athletics Test Event this time, offering all staff and Macao athletes the last opportunity to warm up and familiarize the facilities in the venue, gaining better outcome during the Games.
Starting from 30 October to 1 November, the 2nd Asian Indoor Games Indoor Athletics competitions will be held at the Macao East Asian Games Dome. Macao athletes will compete with other athletes from 45 countries and regions at that time.
