Vietnam Asian Indoor Games Organising Committee (VAIGOC) and Vietnam Olympic Council (VOC) arrived Macao, launching the Coordination Meeting with Macao 2nd Asian Indoor Games Organising Committee (MAIGOC) yesterday (17 September), to discuss arrangements for the handover of the OCA Flag and cultural performance of Vietnam in the 2nd Asian Indoor Games Closing Ceremony.
The 2nd Asian Indoor Games will be hosted in Macao for 9 days, commencing from 26 October to 3 November 2007, with the Closing Ceremony to be held on 3 November at the Venetian Macao Resort Hotel. In the ceremony, the host country of the next edition of the Games, Vietnam, will receive the OCA Flag to officially mark the hosting of the 3rd Asian Indoor Games in 2009. According to the customs of all sporting events, Vietnam as the next host city has to send out a cultural group to perform in the Closing Ceremony its own culture for 15 minutes.
Led by Vice President also Secretary-General of VOC Hoang Vinh Gang the Vietnam delegation has not only discussed with MAIGOC the arrangements to handover the OCA Flag and the cultural performance to be presented by Vietnam as the host city of next edition’s Asian Indoor Games in the 2AIG Closing Ceremony on 3 November, but also related arrangements for the Vietnam delegation to participate in the Games. On behalf of the VOC and VAIGOC, Hoang Vinh Gang expressed his gratitude to MAIGOC for the reception despite of the busiest time of the Organising Committee before the Games, allowing them to comprehensive understanding in multisport event organization and the participation situation.
Hoang Vinh Gang stated that Minister of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Travel of Vietnam Hoang Tuan Anh and the Mayor of Hanoi will attend the handover ceremony of the OCA Flag. In addition, Vietnam will also organize a study team and a delegation of VIPs to Macao to observe the 2nd Asian Indoor Games during the period.
