ACBS Inspected 2AIG Preparation

  To ensure the smooth execution of the sportsprogram of Cue Sports during the 2nd Asian Indoor Games (2AIG), the Macao 2nd Asian Indoor Games OrganisingCommittee (MAIGOC) had a meeting with the Asian Confederation of Billiard Sports (ACBS) President Sindhu Pulsirivong and President Assistant Hanif Hassan, 2AIG Cue Sport TechnicalDelegate Joseph Lo, President of Macau Billiard Association (MBA) Philip Lamand Vice President Choi Chi Chong on 20 August, inspecting preparations for theGames.

  Representatives of ACBS andMBA examined the Games Information and Result System as well as visited theathlete’s hotel and the competition venue at the Macao East Asian Games Dome –Macao International Convention Centre for Cue Sports. After the visit, MAIGOC introduced to the representatives in aworking conference the operation, sports equipment, venue facilities, awardingceremony, doping control, TV broadcasting, and also accommodation, catering andtransportation arrangements for the athletes during the Games period.Advices on the preparation were received, andthe representatives showed their appreciation for the Games Information andResult System and the work that has been done by MAIGOC.

  n two more months the 2AIG will be opened and MAIGOC has been sparing no effort to prepare everything forthe Games.Large scale warm up eventshave been held successfully by MAIGOC, such as the “Macau 2007 Asian IndoorAthletics Invitation Tournament” in February, the friendly football matchbetween Manchester United and Shengzhen Xiangxue Eisiti right after the 2AIGChef-de-Mission Meeting held in June, and even days before, the “Macau 2007,Asian Electronic Sports (E-Sports) Invitation Tournament”.Indoor Hockey will become the next warm upevent in September to be hosted first in Macao.Other sports event working groups of MAIGOC arein smooth progress with the International and Asian Sports Federations to guarantee a high level competition and to ensure allpreparations will be finished before the 2AIGcommenced.
