Macao – 21st June, 2007: The Organizing Committee for the 2nd Asian Indoor Games (MAIGOC) and the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) has signed a sponsorship agreement with Chinese's leading online media company; SINA Corporation as the Official Sponsor and Internet Sponsor for Macau 2007. Under the agreement, SINA wins the exclusive rights to host, develop and operate the Official Games website.
Director General of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) Mr. Husain Al-Musallam expressed confidence in the collaboration, which he added "We are very pleased to have entered into this agreement with SINA, the most recognized internet brand name in China. As the Indoor Games aims to encourage a higher level of sport participation among the youth of Asia, the internet is a key platform to share the vision of the OCA and spread the news of the Games to ensure greater awareness, participation and support".
SINA has been recognized as the most popular website in China and among Chinese communities globally. With 230 million registered users worldwide and a record 500 million daily page views, the partnership will provide MAIGOC with the most comprehensive reach. In addition to website production, development and operations of the official Games website, SINA will also provide technical support, web design, advertising platform, web hosting, flow statistics, back-end system and related technical services.

MAIGOC Chairman Mr. Manuel Silvério believes that the joint efforts of SINA and MAIGOC in operating the official website will not only reinforce the Games image, but will also provide a platform for exchange of information with the world. “SINA's highly professional support and cutting edge technologies will ensure that our website meets the expectations and demands of the general public in providing the latest information of the Macau 2007, 2nd Asian Indoor Games. This is especially vital during the Games period when information uploading and downloading will be its peak.” It is expected that the new version of the official website will be more extensive than the one maintained in the 4th East Asian Games in 2005.

Organized biennially, the second edition of the Asian Indoor Games will be hosted in Macao China, commencing from 26 October to 3 November 2007, consisting of 17 competing sports and 2 demonstration sports, with expected NOC participation from 45 countries throughout all regions of Asia.
