MAIGOC signed agreements with CCTV on TV broadcasting cooperation 2006-05-28  MAIGOC

  On May 28, four cooperation agreements were signed in Beijing by the Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture of Macao SAR Dr Fernando Chui Sai On and Director Zhao Huayong of the China Central Television (CCTV).

  This is another cooperation between Macao and CCTV in international sports meet after the successful 4th East Asian Games last year. The 4 agreements are: 1) 1st Lusofonia Games Television Broadcasting Agreement; 2) Sales Contract of the 1st Lusofonia Games Television Broadcasting Rights (mainland China); 3) 1st Lusofonia Games Opening & Closing Ceremonies Production Contract; and 4) Memorandum of Understanding on the 2nd Asian Indoor Games Television Broadcasting.

  Together with Dr. Chui, Macao delegates include Chairman of the Board of Directors of MAIGOC Manuel Silvério, Director of the Macau Government Tourist Office João Manuel Costa Antunes, General Secretary Charles Lo of Macau Olympic Committee and Director Eric Chau of MAIGOC.

  The conclusion of the four agreements officially activates the work plan on TV broadcasting and the Opening & Closing Ceremonies of the 1st Lusofonia Games, while at the same time further stimulates the promotions at home and overseas. Under these agreements, CCTV will also work hand in hand with the Olympic Council of Asia and MAIGOC for the success of the TV broadcasting of the 2nd Asian Indoor Games.

  During the meeting, Dr Fernando Chui Sai On expressed his gratitude to the Central Government of China and CCTV for their continuous supports. With the success of the 4th East Asian Games, which was brought about by the cooperation with CCTV and participation of all Macao citizens, he hoped the coming two games will be the next exploit. Feeling honored to work for Macao, Zhao Huayong said he would send the best team and advanced equipments to accomplish the job. A dinner was hosted by CCTV for the delegation after the signing ceremony.
