Secretary Chui received the flag at the closing ceremony marking the 2nd Asian Indoor Games held in Macau in 2007

  The first edition of the Asian Indoor Games was announced officially closed by the closing ceremony at the Arena of the Huamark Sport Complex at 17:00 on November 19. On the occasion, the Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture of the Macao SAR Fernando Chui Sai On received the flag of OCA in a position of the representative of the host city of the next edition of the Games. This handover signified Macau is the host city of the Macau 2007, 2nd Asian Indoor Games.

  After the Vice Prime Minister of Thailand Suwat Liptapallopand the Vice President of OCA Timothy T.T. Fok presenting their speeches, the flag was passed from the Vice Prime Minister to the President of Thailand Olympic Committee Yuthasak Sasiprapha, who then passed it to Timothy T.T. Fok. On behalf of the Macao SAR government, Fernando Chui Sai On received the flag of OCA from Timothy T.T. Fok, meaning Macau taking the hosting right of the 2nd Asian Indoor Games.

  The Macao 2nd Asian Indoor Games Organising Committee (MAIGOC) is the organizer of the next edition of the Asian Indoor Games. The Chairman of the Board of Directors of MAIGOC, Manuel Silvério, received the flag from Fernando Chui Sai On, symbolizing MAIGOC will be the official organizer of the Games. To celebrate the precious moment, 28 students from Kao Yip Middle School of Macau gave an 8-minute performance “Blooming Lotuses”. The dancing illustrated Macau people’s affection for lotus for its nobility and integrity image, and people’s eagerness towards a flourish and peaceful society. The show has highlighted the gentle and honest features of Macau citizens.

  The evening show is composed of five performances, namely “Road to Hearties Glory”, “Road to Sky-high Thai”, “Road to Promise & Memory”, “Road to Star Hope” and “The Asian Stars Ever Onward”, out of which, the particular closing remark and Macau’s show started right after the fourth performance. In two hours, the evening show impressed the audience with Thai characteristic performances and illustrated the friendship and amicability of Asian people.

  The China-Macau sport delegation will leave for Macau by a charter flight at 13:50 today.
