During the trip in Bangkok, Chef-de-Mission of China-Macau sport delegation and Chairman of the Board of Directors of MAIGOC Manuel Silvério met the President of OCA, Sheikh Ahmad Al-Fahad Al-Sabah, and exchanged ideas about preparations for the 2nd Asian Indoor Games to be hosted in Macau.
During the meeting, Sheikh Ahmad Al-Fahad Al-Sabah expressed his appreciation and affirmation to the success of the 4th East Asian Games. After that, Manuel Silvério introduced the proposed events and venues of the 2nd Asian Indoor Games and reported on the marketing plan for the Games. Sheikh Ahmad Al-Fahad Al-Sabah suggested adding some events in the Macau 2007, 2nd Asian Indoor Games. The meeting was concluded by exchanging souvenirs between both parties.
In addition, a promotional booth was set up in the Imperial Queens Park Hotel to promote the 2nd Asian Indoor Games. Sheikh Ahmad Al-Fahad Al-Sabah showed his supports on the scene. Tourists and officials were all interested in the promotional activity, which furthered their acknowledgment of the 2nd Asian Indoor Games to be hosted in Macau.
Booklets regarding the Macau 2007, 2nd Asian Indoor Games, tourism brochures of Macau and its historical heritages, as well as the souvenirs of the 2nd Asian Indoor Games were distributed in the booth. Mascot Mei Mei was also there to meet the local people and tourists in Thailand and warm received by the delegations.
As a brand new and dynamic sports event, the 1st Asian Indoor Games has attracted host cities of grand events to set up promotional booths in the headquarters hotel, including Hong Kong 2009, 5th East Asian Games Organising Committee and Incheon 2014 Bidding Committee.
