EAG Dome Ice Rink temporarily closed from tomorrow 2007-08-31  MAIGOC

  The Ice Rink at the MacauEast Asian Games Dome managed by MAIGOC will be temporarily closed fromtomorrow (1 September), according to the planned opening schedule for the peakseason in summer.

  Well-received by thegeneral public and tourists since its opening on 23 March, the ‘freezing’facility has become the hottest leisure attraction for youth as a getaway fromthe heat this summer.The Ice Rink hasrecorded, until August, a total of 42557 entries, with an average of 236entries per day. The Macao 2nd Asian IndoorGames Organising Committee or MAIGOC, responsible for the management of thefacility, has continuously strived to improve service standards at the Ice Rink,while at the same time perfected auxiliary facilities services, among which isshuttle bus service between Greenvillein Taipa (Hotel Taipa) and the Dome.

  The temporary closure ofthe Ice Rink will make way for Indoor Athletics installations in preparationfor the upcoming 2nd Asian Indoor Games.The Macau East Asian Games Dome Arena, where the ice rink is nowinstalled, will host Indoor Athletics competition at the Asian Indoor Games tobe held from 26 Oct to 3 Nov.
