The Board of Directors Meeting of the Macao 2nd Asian Indoor Games Organising Committee (MAIGOC) was held yesterday (31st Jan) afternoon.
The meeting was presided by the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Manuel Silvério. Members in attendance include all eight Directors: Eddie Laam Wah Ying, Cheong Vai Kei, Hong Wai, Wallis O Lam, Allen Lau Cho Un, Peter Ung Hoi Ian, Isabel da Silva and Eric Chau Ka Lai. Others in attendance are Company Secretary Bruno Nunes and Legal Advisor Manuel Pinto.
Chairman Manuel Silvério reported on the operations of the MAIGOC, as well as the preparations on the different areas of work of the company. The Board entrusted Mr. Silvério, in the capacity of both the Chairman of MAIGOC and 1st Vice-President of the Macao Olympic Committee, to participate in the 43rd Executive Board Meeting of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) in Kuwait on 5 February 2005. Mr. Silvério will be introducing MAIGOC, its company set-up and structure, the investment from the Macao S.A.R. Government, the update on the local sports venues to the Executive Board members. He will also present the newly selected mascot and the proposed sports program of the 2nd Asian Indoor Games to the Executive Board for approval.
In addition, Chairman Manuel Silvério introduced about the upcoming Asian Indoor Games Coordination Meeting of which MAIGCO will organise on behalf of the OCA. This meeting will be participated by the different International and Asian sports federations. According to the request of the OCA, this meeting will be held in Macao on 28 February 2005. Participants will discuss the technical matters relating to the Sports Program of the 2nd Asian Indoor Games.
